Tom
Burch is the President and Chairman of the Board
of the National Vietnam Veterans Foundation, Inc.
Between 1983 - 2001, he served as Chairman of the
National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition,
a federation of 106 veterans groups. He is also
past state President of the Virginia Society, Sons
of the American Revolution and past Department Commander
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in the District
of Columbia. He is a graduate of the University
of Richmond (B.A., J.D.) and George Washington University
(LL.M). He is a member of the State Bar Association
of Virginia, District of Columbia and Maryland.
During his eight and a half years of active duty
with the United States Army, Burch variously served
as a Judge Advocate and a Green Beret. Rising to
the rank of major, he received the Bronze Star and
the Meritorious Service Medal. In 2000, the Governor
of Virginia appointed Tom as his personal Aide-de-Camp
and promoted him to the rank of Brigadier General.
Mr. Burch is a life member of the American Legion,
Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Association of
Uniform Services, Special Forces Association, Vietnam
Veterans of America, VietNow, Veterans of the Vietnam
War, and Sons of the American Revolution. He is
the receipient of the VietNow and Veterans of the
Vietnam War Veteran of the Year Awards, Colt Manufacturing
Leadership Award, and the Patriot and Silver Good
Citizenship medals of the Sons of the American Revolution.
